Gemotions

The bustling energy of the yard sale, usually overwhelming, was somehow soothing to Ben today. He moved through the crowd at his own pace, enjoying the sense of anonymity, the kaleidoscope of colors and forgotten items. He felt a quiet hum of happiness.

Then, among the clutter, he saw him: Theodore, his childhood teddy bear. Theodore looked worse for wear, but the familiar shape, the slightly lopsided grin, were unmistakable. Ben felt a feeling of warmth, spread from his chest to his fingertips.

He picked up the bear, gently cradling him. He felt as if a weight he didn’t know he was carrying, had been lifted.
